Barcelona’s performances in Europe were disappointing last season but they compensated for that by lifting the La Liga title and the Supercopa de Espana.
Xavi’s men made an impressive start to the league campaign, losing only once until the World Cup break in November.
And despite a late wobble, they ultimately strolled to the league title finishing an incredible 10 points above Real Madrid.
Robert Lewandowski proved to be an immediate success at Camp Nou, with the Polish striker notching an incredible 33 goals in all competitions last term.
The Blaugrana were also impressive in defence as they conceded only 20 goals in the entire league season.
Meanwhile, Real endured an underwhelming 2022-23 campaign as they failed to defend their league crown.
They were inconsistent throughout the season, losing eight and drawing six of their 38 top-flight matches to fail to mount a serious title challenge.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side also went out of the Champions League at the semi-finals stage after a 5-1 aggregate defeat to eventual champions Manchester City.
Atletico Madrid made an awful start to the campaign but their performances improved during the later stages, with the Indians ultimately finishing a point behind Real in third spot.
